Nasopharynx (Lt.) Swab for C/S
This test detects infections in the left nasopharynx and identifies the bacteria or virus causing the infection. Preparation involves ensuring the throat and nasal area are clear. During the test, a swab is inserted into the nostril and gently scraped from the nasopharynx. Risks are minimal but may include mild discomfort or gagging. After the test, no special care is required. Results identify the infectious organism and its sensitivity to antibiotics.
