FSH
Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH) is a hormone measured through a blood test to assess reproductive health and diagnose conditions affecting the ovaries, testes, or pituitary gland. In women, it helps evaluate ovarian reserve, menstrual irregularities, or menopause status, while in men, it assesses sperm production and testicular function. Preparation is generally minimal, though timing during a woman’s menstrual cycle may be required for accurate results. Blood is drawn from a vein, with risks limited to minor bruising or discomfort. Results are interpreted based on age, sex, and clinical context; elevated FSH may indicate ovarian failure or testicular dysfunction, while low levels can suggest pituitary or hypothalamic disorders.1400 BDT
