ANA-HEp-2
The ANA-HEp-2 test is a specific type of Antinuclear Antibody (ANA) test that uses HEp-2 cells (human epithelial cells) as the substrate to detect autoantibodies in the blood. This test is often used to diagnose autoimmune diseases such as Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), rheumatoid arthritis, and other connective tissue disorders. The test detects various autoantibodies that target the nucleus of cells. It is performed with a blood sample, and the results are interpreted based on the pattern and titer of antibodies found.
