X-ray of Meckel's Diverticulum

An X-ray of Meckel's Diverticulum is a diagnostic imaging procedure used to detect a congenital abnormality in the small intestine known as Meckel’s diverticulum. It is an outpouching of the lower part of the small intestine, usually asymptomatic, but it can cause complications such as bleeding or infection. The procedure typically involves the use of a contrast medium (e.g., barium) to help highlight the diverticulum on the X-ray. It is more commonly detected through other imaging techniques like CT scans or during exploratory surgery. While an X-ray may not be the first diagnostic choice, it can assist in revealing complications related to the condition.
