USG for Liquor Volume(F789)

The USG for Liquor Volume (F789) is an ultrasound used to assess the amount of amniotic fluid surrounding the fetus during pregnancy. Adequate amniotic fluid is essential for fetal development, allowing for proper movement, lung development, and cushioning. This scan measures the amniotic fluid index (AFI) or the single deepest pocket (SDP) to evaluate fluid levels. Abnormalities in liquor volume, such as oligohydramnios (low fluid) or polyhydramnios (excess fluid), may indicate potential complications like fetal distress, preterm labor, or placental problems. The procedure is non-invasive, safe, and typically done in the second or third trimester to monitor fetal health.
