TSH receptor antibodies (TRAb)

The TSH receptor antibodies (TRAb) test measures the presence of antibodies that target the thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) receptor, often used to diagnose autoimmune thyroid diseases such as Graves' disease. No special preparation is usually required, and a blood sample is drawn from a vein. Risks include mild discomfort, bruising, or infection at the puncture site. Positive results may indicate Graves' disease or other thyroid-related autoimmune conditions, while negative results suggest no autoimmune thyroid disorder. Certain medications or conditions may affect results. Normal activities can be resumed after the test.
