Small Gut (Resected)

Small Gut (Resected) refers to a portion of the small intestine that has been surgically removed, often due to conditions like tumors, strictures, inflammatory diseases (such as Crohn’s disease), or bowel obstructions. The resected tissue is typically sent for histopathological examination to assess for any signs of disease, malignancy, or other abnormalities. The tissue is processed, sectioned, and stained, then examined under a microscope by a pathologist. The results help guide further treatment decisions, such as the need for additional surgery or medical therapy. Preparation involves proper tissue collection, fixation, and processing. Results are usually available in a few days.
