MRI of Lumbar Spine With Screening Of S.I. Joint

An MRI of the lumbar spine with screening of the sacroiliac (S.I.) joint is a diagnostic procedure that uses magnetic fields and radio waves to generate detailed images of the lower back (lumbar spine) and the sacroiliac joints, which connect the spine to the pelvis. The MRI helps assess conditions like herniated discs, spinal stenosis, sacroiliitis (inflammation of the S.I. joint), arthritis, or other issues affecting the spine and pelvic region. No special preparation is usually required, but fasting may be necessary if contrast agents are used. During the scan, you will lie still for 30-45 minutes. The procedure is painless, and after the scan, you can resume normal activities. A radiologist will interpret the results.
