MRCP With CT Scan

MRCP with CT scan is a combination of two imaging techniques used to evaluate the bile ducts, gallbladder, pancreas, and surrounding structures in greater detail. MRCP (Magnetic Resonance Cholangiopancreatography) provides detailed images of the soft tissues and ducts, while a CT (Computed Tomography) scan offers a clearer view of the surrounding organs, such as the liver, pancreas, and kidneys. The procedure involves both MRI and CT scans, often performed sequentially. Fasting may be required before the tests, and contrast dye may be used in both procedures. The combination is helpful in diagnosing conditions like bile duct obstructions, pancreatitis, and tumors. Risks include allergic reactions to contrast and slight discomfort from the scans.
