Insulin(PP)

Insulin (Postprandial, PP) measures insulin levels after a meal, typically 2 hours post-meal, to assess how the pancreas responds to glucose intake. It is commonly used to evaluate insulin secretion, diagnose insulin resistance, or monitor diabetes management. During the test, blood is drawn from a vein exactly 2 hours after eating a meal or consuming a glucose load. No additional preparation is required besides ensuring accurate timing. Elevated postprandial insulin levels may indicate insulin resistance, while low levels suggest impaired pancreatic function. Results are often compared with postprandial glucose levels. Factors like meal composition, stress, or medication can influence results, making it important to follow test guidelines.
