Haemistasis of Ulcer Bleeding Injection

Hemostasis of ulcer bleeding using injection is a procedure to stop active bleeding from a peptic ulcer, typically in the stomach or duodenum. During the procedure, a healthcare provider injects a hemostatic agent (such as epinephrine or sclerosants) directly into the ulcer site using an endoscope. The agent constricts blood vessels to reduce or stop bleeding. This method is often used when endoscopic thermal therapy (like cauterization) is ineffective or not preferred. It is performed under sedation or local anesthesia. Risks include infection, perforation, or re-bleeding. The procedure is effective for stabilizing the patient and may be followed by further treatment or monitoring.
