Digital X-Ray of O.C.G. (Oral Cholecystography)

Oral Cholecystography (O.C.G.) is a diagnostic imaging procedure used to assess the gallbladder's function and detect conditions like gallstones, inflammation, or blockages. The test involves the patient ingesting a contrast material (usually an iodine-based dye) a few hours before the X-ray. The dye is absorbed by the digestive system and concentrates in the gallbladder, making it visible on X-ray images. Once the dye reaches the gallbladder, a series of X-ray images are taken. O.C.G. is non-invasive, though the patient may experience mild discomfort from the contrast. Results are interpreted by a radiologist to diagnose gallbladder-related issues.
