Digital 24 Hrs. late Film for I.V.U.

A Digital 24-Hour Late Film for Intravenous Urography (IVU) is a diagnostic imaging procedure used to evaluate the kidneys, ureters, and bladder. It involves injecting a contrast dye (iodine-based) into the bloodstream, which is filtered by the kidneys and excreted into the urinary system. X-ray images are taken at various intervals, with the late film taken 24 hours after injection to assess long-term contrast excretion and detect any kidney or urinary tract abnormalities like blockages, stones, or structural issues. Preparation includes fasting and possibly hydration. Risks include allergic reactions to the contrast dye or kidney strain, especially in patients with pre-existing conditions.
