CAPD Fluid for Biochemical Test

Biochemical tests on CAPD (Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis) fluid are performed to assess various components of the fluid and to help diagnose complications such as infections, inflammation, or peritoneal dysfunction. Common biochemical tests include: Glucose Concentration: To assess the effectiveness of dialysis and peritoneal membrane function. Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH): Elevated levels can indicate peritoneal infection or inflammation. Total Protein/Albumin: Low protein levels may suggest peritoneal leakage or infection. White Blood Cell (WBC) Count: An increase can suggest peritonitis. pH: Helps assess the condition of the peritoneal cavity, with significant deviations indicating complications. These tests are critical in evaluating the patient's condition, detecting peritoneal infections, or monitoring dialysis efficacy.
