Anti-TG Ab
The Anti-TG Ab (Anti-Thyroglobulin Antibody) test detects antibodies against thyroglobulin, a protein produced by the thyroid gland. The presence of these antibodies is often associated with autoimmune thyroid diseases such as Hashimoto's thyroiditis (hypothyroidism) and Graves' disease (hyperthyroidism). Elevated levels of Anti-TG Ab can indicate thyroid dysfunction or inflammation. The test is performed using a blood sample, and the risks are minimal, typically involving slight discomfort during the blood draw. While the test is helpful in diagnosing thyroid autoimmune disorders, it is not definitive on its own and may be used alongside other tests to assess thyroid health.1400 BDT
