Urethral Discharge for AFB
The Urethral Discharge for AFB (Acid-Fast Bacilli) test is used to detect tuberculosis (TB) or other mycobacterial infections in the urethra. A sample is taken from the urethral discharge using a sterile swab. No special preparation is needed, and the test is usually performed in a clinical setting. Risks include mild discomfort or irritation during the swabbing process. A positive result indicates the presence of mycobacteria, confirming TB or another infection, while negative results may require further testing. Normal activities can be resumed afterward.600 BDT
