Angiotensin Converting Enzyme (ACE)
The Angiotensin Converting Enzyme (ACE) test measures the level of ACE in the blood. ACE is an enzyme that plays a key role in regulating blood pressure and fluid balance by converting angiotensin I to angiotensin II, a potent vasoconstrictor. The test is primarily used to diagnose and monitor sarcoidosis, a condition where inflammation occurs in various organs, including the lungs and lymph nodes. Elevated ACE levels can also be seen in conditions like chronic granulomatous disease and cystic fibrosis. The test is done with a blood sample, and risks are minimal, usually limited to slight discomfort during the blood draw.2250 BDT3000 BDT
