The Total Acid Phosphatase (ACP) test measures the levels of acid phosphatase enzyme in the blood, commonly used to help diagnose prostate issues, including cancer. Purpose: It assesses prostate health or detects bone disorders. Preparation: No special preparation is needed. Procedure: A blood sample is drawn. Risks: Minor bruising, discomfort, or infection at the puncture site. Interpretation: High levels may indicate prostate cancer, bone diseases, or other conditions.
