Duplex Study of Neck Vessel
A Duplex Study of the neck vessels is a non-invasive ultrasound test that combines traditional imaging with Doppler technology to assess the blood flow and structure of the arteries and veins in the neck, particularly the carotid arteries. This test is commonly used to detect conditions like atherosclerosis (plaque buildup), stenosis (narrowing of the arteries), or abnormal blood flow, which can increase the risk of stroke. During the procedure, a gel is applied to the neck, and a transducer is moved over the area to capture images and measure blood flow. The test is painless, though mild discomfort may occur due to the pressure of the transducer. Results help in diagnosing vascular issues and guiding treatment, such as medication, lifestyle changes, or surgery.2250 BDT3000 BDT
