CK-MB
CK-MB (Creatine Kinase-Muscle/Brain) is an isoenzyme of creatine kinase primarily found in the heart muscle and, to a lesser extent, in skeletal muscle and brain tissue. The CK-MB test measures the levels of this enzyme in the blood and is primarily used to diagnose acute myocardial infarction (heart attack). When heart muscle cells are damaged, such as in a heart attack, CK-MB is released into the bloodstream. Elevated CK-MB levels are typically detected within hours of a heart attack, peaking within 24 hours, and returning to normal within 2-3 days. The test is used alongside other markers like troponin to assess the extent of heart damage and help guide treatment decisions.750 BDT1000 BDT
