C-ANCA
C-ANCA (Cytoplasmic Antineutrophil Cytoplasmic Antibodies) is a blood test used to detect autoantibodies that target certain proteins in neutrophils (a type of white blood cell). It is primarily associated with autoimmune diseases, especially granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA), formerly known as Wegener’s granulomatosis, a condition that causes inflammation of blood vessels. Elevated C-ANCA levels are a key marker in diagnosing GPA and other types of vasculitis. The test detects antibodies against proteinase 3 (PR3), a protein found in the cytoplasm of neutrophils. While a positive C-ANCA test is highly suggestive of GPA, it may also appear in other conditions like systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) or certain infections. The test is used to help diagnose and monitor the progression of these diseases.750 BDT1000 BDT
