BUN
BUN (Blood Urea Nitrogen) is a blood test that measures the amount of urea nitrogen in the blood. Urea is a waste product produced when the body breaks down protein. The kidneys filter urea from the blood, and it is excreted in urine. A high BUN level can indicate kidney dysfunction, dehydration, or excessive protein breakdown, while a low BUN level may be seen in conditions like malnutrition or liver disease. The test is often used to assess kidney function, monitor kidney disease, or evaluate hydration status. Normal BUN levels typically range from 7 to 20 mg/dL, though this can vary depending on the lab and individual factors.300 BDT400 BDT
