Buccal Swab for C/S
A buccal swab for C/S (Culture and Sensitivity) is a diagnostic procedure used to collect a sample of cells or bacteria from the inside of the cheek for laboratory testing. A cotton swab is rubbed against the mucosal lining of the cheek to gather cells, mucus, or any potential pathogens. This sample is then sent to a laboratory where it is cultured to identify any bacterial, fungal, or viral infections. Sensitivity testing helps determine which antibiotics or antifungals will be most effective for treatment. This test is commonly used for diagnosing oral infections, such as bacterial or fungal mouth infections. Risks are minimal, typically limited to slight discomfort during the swabbing.750 BDT1000 BDT
