Blood for C/S (FAN Method)
Blood for C/S (FAN Method) is a test used to culture blood and identify bacterial infections, particularly anaerobic organisms, in the bloodstream. The FAN (Facultative and Anaerobic) method involves isolating both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria from a blood sample. The test is crucial for detecting infections that are difficult to identify with standard methods, such as bacteremia, sepsis, or intra-abdominal infections. The blood sample is cultured under both aerobic and anaerobic conditions, and antibiotic sensitivity is tested. The procedure is minimally invasive, involving a blood draw, with minor risks like discomfort or bruising at the collection site.1500 BDT2000 BDT
