Bence-Jones Protein
Bence-Jones Protein is a type of protein found in the urine, typically produced by abnormal plasma cells. The Bence-Jones protein test is used to diagnose and monitor multiple myeloma, a cancer of the bone marrow. Elevated levels of Bence-Jones proteins are indicative of light chain proteins that are produced in excess by plasma cells, a hallmark of this condition. The test is typically done using a urine sample and may also be used to monitor response to treatment. The procedure is safe, with minimal risk, mainly mild discomfort from the urine collection.300 BDT400 BDT
