Alkaline phosphatase
Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP) is an enzyme found in several tissues throughout the body, including the liver, bones, kidneys, and gallbladder. The ALP test measures the level of this enzyme in the blood and is commonly used to evaluate liver function, bone health, and the presence of gallbladder disease or bone disorders like Paget’s disease or osteomalacia. High ALP levels can indicate liver disease, bone growth or fractures, or certain cancers, while low levels may suggest malnutrition or deficiency in zinc. The test is done using a blood sample, and risks are minimal, usually involving slight discomfort during the blood draw.225 BDT300 BDT
