Prof. Dr. Firoz Khan's journey in the medical field has been remarkable. He completed his graduation from Rangpur Medical College in 1982. Later, in 1990, he attained his MD in Nephrology, which opened up opportunities for him to work as the Registrar of Nephrology at Dhaka Medical College. As the years passed, Dr. Khan's expertise and dedication led to further advancements in his career. In 1994, he was appointed as an Assistant Professor of Nephrology, and in 1998, his accomplishments were recognized with a promotion to the position of Associate Professor within the department. In pursuit of excellence, Dr. Firoz Khan decided to join the National Institute of Kidney Diseases and Urology (NIKDU) as an Associate Professor in 2002. His continuous hard work and contributions to the field were acknowledged, and in 2004, he earned the esteemed title of Professor. Continuing to expand his horizons, he obtained his FRCP from London in 2005, further enhancing his knowledge and international recognition. His passion and leadership abilities earned him the position of Director at NIKDU in 2009. In 2011, Dr. Khan returned to his alma mater, Dhaka Medical College, where he was appointed as a professor and also entrusted with the responsibility of heading the Department of Nephrology. Currently, his expertise is being utilized as a Senior Consultant at York Hospital Limited, where he continues to make significant contributions to the field of Nephrology.
