Dr. Md. Shafiqul Islam Dewan

Dr. Md. Shafiqul Islam Dewan, MBBS, BCS (Health), MD (Pulmonology), MACP (USA), is a Respiratory Medicine Specialist and Interventional Pulmonologist at the National Institute of Diseases of the Chest and Hospital (NIDCH), Dhaka, Bangladesh. He completed his MD in Pulmonology from Dhaka Medical College under Bangladesh Medical University (BMU) and has served in the Bangladesh Civil Service (Health Cadre) since 2014. Over the course of his career, he has gained broad clinical experience in respiratory medicine, internal medicine, cardiology, emergency medicine, and endocrinology through appointments at several leading government hospitals. His clinical interests include interventional pulmonology, flexible bronchoscopy, pleural diseases, asthma, COPD, interstitial lung diseases, pulmonary infections, and lung cancer. Dr. Dewan is committed to evidence-based practice, advancing respiratory care, and promoting continuous medical education through clinical teaching, scientific discussions, and professional collaboration.
