Service Providers for X-ray of Defecography

Defecography is a specialized X-ray procedure used to assess the function of the rectum and pelvic floor during defecation. It helps diagnose conditions such as rectal prolapse, bowel incontinence, constipation, or pelvic floor dysfunction. During the procedure, a contrast medium, often barium or a similar substance, is introduced into the rectum. The patient is then asked to sit on a commode or use a simulated defecation position while X-rays capture the movement of the contrast as the patient attempts to pass it. This process provides real-time images of the rectum and anal canal, helping to identify any structural or functional abnormalities. Preparation may include fasting or bowel cleansing.
