Service Providers for Vesico Ureteric Reflux

Vesicoureteric reflux (VUR) is a condition where urine flows backward from the bladder into the ureters or kidneys. Normally, urine flows in one direction, from the kidneys through the ureters to the bladder. In VUR, the valve that normally prevents this backward flow is defective. This condition can lead to urinary tract infections (UTIs), kidney damage, or scarring, especially in children. VUR is typically diagnosed using imaging tests like a voiding cystourethrogram (VCUG) or ultrasound. Treatment depends on the severity and can range from monitoring and antibiotics to surgical intervention to correct the reflux.
