Service Providers for Anti-SS-B
The Anti-SS-B (Anti-La) test detects antibodies against the SS-B (La) protein, which is involved in RNA processing. These antibodies are most commonly associated with Sjogren's syndrome, an autoimmune disease that primarily affects the moisture-producing glands, leading to symptoms like dry mouth and dry eyes. Anti-SS-B antibodies can also be found in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and other autoimmune disorders. The test is performed with a blood sample, and the risks are minimal, generally involving slight discomfort during the blood draw. Elevated levels of Anti-SS-B help in diagnosing Sjogren’s syndrome and other autoimmune conditions.
