Service Providers for Anti-RNP
The Anti-RNP (Anti-Ribonucleoprotein) test detects antibodies against ribonucleoprotein complexes, which are made up of proteins and RNA. These antibodies are most commonly associated with mixed connective tissue disease (MCTD), a condition that has features of multiple autoimmune diseases, including systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), scleroderma, and polymyositis. A positive Anti-RNP test can help confirm the diagnosis of MCTD, especially when symptoms include muscle weakness, joint pain, and skin changes. The test is performed using a blood sample, and the risks are minimal, typically limited to slight discomfort during the blood draw.
