Service Providers for Alpha Feto Protein

Alpha-Fetoprotein (AFP) is a protein produced primarily by the liver and yolk sac of a developing fetus. In adults, elevated levels of AFP can indicate liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma), germ cell tumors, or certain liver diseases like cirrhosis or hepatitis. AFP is also used as a marker in prenatal screening to assess the risk of neural tube defects and Down syndrome in the fetus. The test is performed using a blood sample, and risks are minimal, mainly discomfort during the blood draw. Elevated AFP levels may require further testing for diagnosis and treatment planning.
